Korangi District, established in 2013, is one of Karachi’s seven administrative districts, carved out from Karachi East District.
As of the 2023 census, it has a population of approximately 3.1 million residents. The district comprises four subdivisions: Korangi, Landhi, Model Colony, and Shah Faisal. It is characterized by its diverse ethnic composition, including Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, Punjabi, and other communities. Despite facing challenges such as water scarcity and contamination, efforts have been made to address these issues, including the inauguration of a reverse osmosis plant in 2017.
